Lux Research seeks research interns to help develop groundbreaking analyses of how emerging technology will impact businesses, the economy, and society. Interns, typically undergraduate, MBA, and Ph.D. students, work on a project basis typically part-time during a semester or full-time during the summer months. In return for their participation, interns receive a hands-on education in emerging technology from a business perspective as well as an authorship credit on the research studies they contribute to, which have been widely cited by press outlets such as The Wall Street Journal, BusinessWeek, The New York Times, and CNBC.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct primary research for publications. Identify, contact, and interview executives in the materials, manufacturing, electronics, information technology, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices sectors.
- Conduct secondary research through Web, information service, publication database, and patent database searches.
- Assist analysts with ad hoc research tasks in the course of report development.
- Present data in a visually compelling fashion in figures, tables, and charts.
- Collaborate with a team of senior researchers and emerging technology visionaries to develop analyses of how emerging technology will impact businesses and the economy.
- Typical candidates will be undergraduates with coursework in areas including technology management, finance, natural sciences, and engineering. Advanced candidates will include MBA students with a specific interest in innovation and emerging markets and Ph.D. candidates interested in applying their scientific knowledge in a business context.
Requirements:
